October advice

People Focused Solutions

I coach and mentor leaders and others to build confidence, stimulate insights and establish change.

Organisation Focused Solutions

I set up and help organisations to improve productivity, teamwork, profit and performance.

Workplace Mediation

I provide expert, impartial and independent mediation and assessment services.

I offer

Human Resources project management, leadership development and consultancy

I use my 20+ years of experience to help organisations, leadership teams and HR professionals to get the best of their people

I work with the larger organisational strategy in mind, embedding the people section as an important part of the wider organisation

I have a generalist background with ample specialist project experience. The breadth of my background helps me to see, protect and influence the bigger picture

I have especially expertise in change management, growth and downsizing scenarios, culture programmes, HRD including talent management, performance management and organisational development. Next to this I focus on creating individual paths through coaching and talent definition and management

Coaching and facilitation

I coach, inspire and encourage young, mid-career and senior professionals

I motivate people to boost their thinking, let ideas in, opinions out and invite views to be changed

I work with doubters, achievers, busy bees and future fearers to let their ideas flow, challenge beliefs and dare to think the (so far) unthinkable and do the un-doable

I work from a principle of solution-based coaching, looking at the individual needs, focus on what works that can help what doesn’t work that well, looking ahead and strengthening self-belief. The client provides the agenda and the coach provides the process for a set of focused conversations with a mix of tools and techniques matching the coaching needs of the client

Mediation

I mediate between parties that disagree in workplace or private settings

I guide the mediation process in a neutral and impartial capacity. My role is not to judge, assess, give an opinion or advice, nor do I offer a solution. I am not to label what is right or what is wrong

I encourage and facilitate an agreement between parties that satisfies their respective interests

I mediate with an open mind, a respectful approach to the parties involved and emphasis on open and honest communication

About that name….

Having lived and worked abroad  for quite some years, I really missed the seasons of home. Since I was very young, autumn always was my favourite. The change of season, the start of a new school year and being part of that cycle bring back some of my favourite early memories.

So I knew that if I ever started my own consultancy I had to be autumn related. At least in the name… This is how October advice was created. My favourite month, season, and tree all combined with my my other passion; HR, working with people and unleashing (like a conker perhaps) the shiny bit within.

Recently, one of my clients summarised it nicely- conkers is absolutely bonkers!  I love it.
